I'm Jim — a developer and builder living in New York. I've been shipping software for a long time and self-hosting most of what I run. This site is the home for projects, writing, and a way to get in touch.
I work primarily in C# and TypeScript, run a small lab of services on a home server, and write up what I learn along the way. I'm extroverted in the lower-case sense: I like to talk about software, share notes early, and trade ideas in public.
The site you're reading was hand-built — no Wordpress, no Substack, no generic template. The motivation was partly practical (I wanted to own the publishing pipeline) and partly aesthetic (most personal-site templates feel interchangeable, and I wanted something that felt like a place rather than a feed).
